CEDAR RAPIDS – Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Grant Silianoff and defenseman Will Francis have been named to the 2019 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game being played at the Ice Box on Tuesday, January 8th in Lincoln, Nebraska, home to the USHL’s Lincoln Stars.
The two-day event will begin on Monday, January 7th with on-ice testing and off-ice measurements conducted by NHL Central Scouting. In the seven-year history of the USHL/NHL Top Prospects game, 93 players who participated have later been selected in the NHL Draft.
Both Silianoff and Francis have played in 21 games thus far this season. Silianoff is from Edina, Minnesota and committed to Notre Dame while Francis is from Shoreview, Minnesota and is committed to Minnesota-Duluth.
“It’s a great opportunity for both players,” said RoughRiders Head Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson. “They’ve earned it by listening, executing and working extremely hard. They really want to be good hockey players.”
