Riders Game Day: 10/1/21 @ Waterloo

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders face-off with the Waterloo Black Hawks at Young Arena in Waterloo, IA at 7:05 pm CDT on Friday, October 1st, 2021.

The game will be streamed on HockeyTV and Riders fans can follow the team's Twitter account for in-game updates. This is the first game of the Dupaco Cowbell Cup between the RoughRiders, Black Hawks, and Dubuque Fighting Saints. 

This will be the first regular-season matchup between the Riders and Black Hawks since February 15, 2020, when the teams played at ImOn Ice Arena. 

The Riders are coming off their first win of the year against the Lincoln Stars at the USHL Fall Classic. Forward Conor Lovett scored the Overtime Game-Winning goal in the only goal of the game. Goalie Bruno Bruveris saved all 31 shots he faced in his shutout effort. 

The Black Hawks split their two games at the USHL Fall Classic, falling to Green Bay before defeating the Youngstown Phantoms last Friday. Goaltender Jack Williams registered a shutout in the game against the Phantoms. 

Following Friday's matchup, the RoughRiders will return to the ice next Friday, October 8th, on the road against the Green Bay Gamblers. 

The RoughRiders home opener is on Saturday, October 16th at 7:05 pm at ImOn Ice Arena against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Tickets are on sale online. Fans will save time and money by purchasing their tickets online this season.
