Not only are the RoughRiders back on the ice this season, but so is our organization's commitment to recognizing those who make a positive impact in the greater Cedar Rapids area.

The GEICO Philanthropic Foundation Difference Maker in the Community is an award presented to individuals, families, and/or organizations that have repeatedly demonstrated valuable contributions through positive interactions with others, a respect for value and inclusion, and enhancing the lives of those in their community. We are honored to present this award to honoree(s) for excellent volunteer, compassion for humanity, and making a difference in the lives of many.

We want to thank Dorothy Adams, mother of Rider Alumnus Zack Robbins, who started this wonderful award, and for her desire for wanting to give back to our community and team that treated her and her son like family. Not only did she create this award, but she also played a major role in the start-up of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders Booster Club. Thank You, Dot, for all the time and efforts in making this award so special. Once a Rider, Always a Rider.

Our dear friends at the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation were so happy to collaborate with us in honoring those who impact our community. They share the same passion and appreciation for all that give back to our community. We are extremely excited about this new partnership.

We want to hear from you! Please nominate a person or organization that is a difference-maker in our community. The recipient will be awarded four free tickets to a game, a bag of swag compliments of GEICO Philanthropic Foundation, and pregame recognition on the bench with the team.

Please fill out the form below with your nominee and email it to Tammy Carlson, tcarlson@roughridershockey.com

The RoughRiders Home Opener is October 16 at 7:05 pm against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
