Riedel is excited about his role in Cedar Rapids. "I'd like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Sdao, Coach Carlson, and the entire organization for this wonderful opportunity. Coaching in the USHL is a privilege and I intend to work as hard as I can to help the RoughRiders draft and develop as many high-level players and people as possible. I'd like to thank my wife Sadie and our family for supporting my pursuit of coaching in the USHL."

"I'd also like to thank Terry Bishop and Dwayne Norris for the past 8 years with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies. I wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for them."
