When #WillPower Works

Our prayers have been answered...

Just before 5 p.m. today, we received a visit from Will's oncologist and he told us that the results from this morning's bone marrow procedure show that Will's cancer is IN REMISSION - July 9th, 2020 - nearly 4 months after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
We were surprised when Dr. Gordon came to the room late this afternoon while Will was getting fluids before receiving chemotherapy. We didn't expect the results until tomorrow afternoon, or even Monday, but since Will had the first appointment of the day we got lucky, and his doctor wanted us to know right away. He told us the Flow Cytometry test shows Negative MRD (minimal residual disease), also known as NED (no evidence of disease). Whatever the acronym...We're just so happy, thankful, and relieved to receive this great news! God stayed at Will's side through this valley, and he will always provide for every one of us when we put our faith in him.

So, what's next? Does this mean Will gets to come home? Is he done with everything?

Oh...Don't we wish!?!

Throughout the rest of this year, he'll continue with intense chemo treatments at the hospital to keep the Leukemia from coming back, and to continue rebuilding healthy blood. In early 2021 the load will be much lighter, and he'll spend a year in the Maintenance Phase of chemo, which won't require as many hospital visits.

We know that the Psalms are full of promises that God hears us when we pray, so we want to sincerely thank everyone who has prayed for Will over the past 4 months, and continues to pray for his complete healing. It means the world to us!
