Cedar Rapids, IA — The United States Hockey League has named Cedar Rapids RoughRiders goaltender Derek Mullahy its goalie of the week.
Mullahy helped his team to an undefeated weekend at home, stopping 22 of 24 shots in Friday’s competition against Fargo, and 31 of 32 shots on Saturday against Waterloo. The goalie from Scituate, MA has played in ten games for the RoughRiders in his debut USHL season and has a .901 save percentage. He is committed to play at Harvard University next fall.
RoughRiders head coach Mark Carlson praised Mullahy’s play and development, saying, “[I’m] happy for Derek; he continues to improve each week. We look forward to watching him develop as the season progresses.”
