Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A pair of Cedar Rapids RoughRiders were selected in the 2019 NHL draft, held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Home of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks.
Defenseman Will Francis was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the 6th round (163rd overall). The Shoreview, Minnesota native played in 59 games last season for the RoughRiders, scoring two goals and adding eight assists. Francis is committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Forward Aidan McDonough was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th round (195th overall). McDonough is a native of Milton, MA and skated in 50 games during the regular season, scoring 21 goals to go along with 21 assists. McDonough is committed to play at Northeastern University.
