Pair of RoughRiders Named to All-USHL Teams

Cedar Rapids, IA – The United States Hockey League announced today its All-USHL teams & USHL All-Rookie teams.  Winners for the All-USHL teams and USHL All-Rookie teams are determined by a vote of League General Managers.  A pair of RoughRiders were named to the teams.

Goaltender Blake Pietila was named All-USHL Second team.  Pietila went 30-13-3-1 for the RoughRiders this season.  Becoming only the 3rd goaltender in team history with 30 or more wins in a season.  The Howell, MI native also skated for the US Junior Select Team in the World Junior A Challenge in December 2018.  Pietila is committed to Michigan Tech. 

Forward Grant Silianoff was named to the USHL All-Rookie Second team.  Silianoff, from Edina, MN, scored 18 goals and added 23 assists in 55 games this season.  Silianoff joined Pietila on the US Junior Select team in the World Junior A Challenge and also participating in this season’s USHL/NHL Top Prospects game held in January 2019.  Silianoff is committed to Notre Dame. 

“We are happy for both Blake and Grant on being selected to the All-USHL and USHL All-Rookie teams,” said RoughRiders Head Coach Mark Carlson.  “Both Blake and Grant worked hard this season and the honor is well deserved for both of them.”
