Great Western Futures' USHL Goalie of the Week: Blake Pietila

This week the Great Western Futures Super Camp USHL Goalie of the Week is Blake Pietila of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. This is Blake’s third time as as Goalie of the Week. This week’s USHL Goalie of the Week nod comes just six weeks after his last. He backed his team to a six goal shutout Friday against Team USA. He stopped nine shots in the win. On Saturday he went 9 for 10 in the RoughRiders’ 2-1 defeat of the U17’s.

Blake Pietila’s statistics stand at: 
W:24 L:11 T:0 GAA: 2.35 SV%: 0.912 

Blake Pietila (19) is a native of Howell, Michigan. He refined his game in the High Performance Hockey League having played for both Compuware and Little Caesars in his youth. He finished the 2016-17 season an HPHL U16 Champion. He skated in 32 games last season with the RoughRiders where he finished with a 3.03 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Pietila will be near his hometown when he begins play a mere 35 miles down the road, with the Michigan State Spartans in 2019.
