<p>December 20, 2005- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will team up with the University of Iowa hockey team for a doubleheader this Saturday at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. </p>
<p>The Hawkeye men’s hockey team will face off against the University of Northern Iowa at 4:05PM. The RoughRiders and Chicago Steel will complete the twin bill at 7:05PM. The hockey doubleheader is made possible by Chezik-Bell Honda and KCRG TV-9. </p>
<p>“We’re very excited about getting together with the University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa hockey teams for this event,” said RoughRiders Vice President of Operations Jim Calpin. “We’re also very thankful to our corporate partners, Chezik-Bell Honda and KCRG TV-9, for enabling us to put together what is going to be a great day for hockey in eastern Iowa.” </p>
<p>During the first intermission of the RoughRiders’ game, one lucky fan will have the chance to win a 32” television and other prizes courtesy of Chezik-Bell Honda. </p>
<p>Fans attending the Riders’ game Saturday will also have the chance to take part in a special “Meet & Greet” session with RoughRiders Chief Executive Officer Michael Reinsdorf and Managing Member Steven Edelson from 6:00 to 7:00PM in the ice arena party room.</p>
<p>The league-leading RoughRiders (27-4-3, 57 points) defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 4-3 last night at the ice arena. The win was the Riders’ fifth in a row. Coach Mark Carlson’s squad has gone 11-1 in its last 12 games and 20-1-2 in its last 23. The Riders lead the Omaha Lancers by five points in the race for first place overall in the United States Hockey League. The RoughRiders will visit Green Bay for a rematch with the Gamblers tomorrow night before heading home for Saturday’s meeting with Chicago.</p>
<p>The University of Iowa hockey team has gone 10-3-1 this season. The Ice Hawks are in fourth place in the Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association’s Silver Division with a 6-3-1 conference record. UNI has gone 2-8-0 so far this season.</p>
<p>Tickets for Saturday’s doubleheader- and for all remaining RoughRiders home dates- are now on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or in person at the ice arena. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days.
