Game Summary: January 19, 2005- RoughRiders 4 Green Bay 3
<P>Rob Ricci scored two goals, including what proved to be the game winner, as the host RoughRiders defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 4-3 Wednesday night.</P>
<P>The win was the Riders’ fifth in a row and their eleventh in 12 games. Rider goaltender Alex Stalock made 31 saves to earn his sixth consecutive win and stretch his personal unbeaten streak to a team record-tying twelve straight games (10-0-2).</P>
<P>Ricci scored his second goal just 17 seconds into the third period to give the Riders a 4-2 lead. Brandon Svendsen’s centering pass bounced off Greg Collins’s stick, but Ricci was on the spot to bury a backhander.</P>
<P>At 4:22 of the third, Green Bay’s Blake Wheeler scored his second goal of the night, cutting the Rider lead to 4-3 with a wraparound.</P>
<P>The Riders kept the Gamblers off the scoreboard the rest of the way however.</P>
<P>The Riders were able to take the lead into the third period thanks to a great individual effort from Jon Grabarek at 16:04 of the second. Grabarek skated around Green Bay defenseman Jeremy Dehner in the left wing circle and cut in front to tuck a backhander past Gambler netminder Zane Kalemba and snap a 2-2 tie.</P>
<P>Earlier in the second period the Gamblers had erased a 2-0 deficit with a pair of goals just over a minute apart. The Gamblers were on the power play when Wheeler snapped a wicked wrist shot under the cross bar from the right wing circle to put Green Bay on the scoreboard at 8:36.</P>
<P>The Gamblers evened the scored when Brian Rohloff pushed a rebound past Stalock at 9:40.</P>
<P>Early on in the first period it seemed the Riders might have an easy evening ahead of them as Ted Purcell and Ricci scored just 42 seconds apart.</P>
<P>Purcell steered home a Justin Abdelkader centering feed to give the Riders the 1-0 lead at 2:43. </P>
<P>At the 3:25 mark, Ricci converted a Greg Collins centering pass to make it 2-0. </P>
