Game Summary: January 8, 2004- RoughRiders 2 Lincoln 1
<p>Jon Grabarek and Ted Purcell provided the goals and Dan Tormey made 29 saves as the RoughRiders defeated the host Lincoln Stars 2-1 Saturday night.</p>
<p>The Riders took a 1-0 lead just over two minutes into the first period on a fine individual effort by Grabarek. The veteran forward raced down the left wing, skated past Lincoln defenseman Russ Sikewich and cut in front to backhand the puck past Stars goaltender Steve Jakiel.</p>
<p>At 14:17 of the second period Purcell doubled the Rider lead with a blast from the right wing circle.</p>
<p>Just 1:42 later, the Stars pulled back within one with a power play goal as Brock Trotter snapped the puck home from the left wing circle.</p>
<p>The Stars were unable to generate an equalizer, despite going on the power play twice in the third period. Lincoln came closest tying the score during one of those man advantages when Dan Reidel swept the puck off the goal post.</p>
