The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders held their ninth annual year-end banquet last night at A Touch of Class in Cedar Rapids. As part of the event, the Riders presented their Fan’s Choice Awards, honors voted on by the team’s fans.
RoughRider captain Ian Slater led the honor roll as both the team’s Most Valuable Player and as the Fans’ Favorite Player. The full list of Fan’s Choice Award winners follows.

In addition, Doug Jones won the team’s Community Service Award and was also presented the Phil Weber Memorial Scholarship by the RoughRiders Fan Club. Tom Williams and Shane Severson were named Off Ice Officials of the Year and Dan Schemmel and Larissa Edgington were named Interns of the Year.
The RoughRiders (33-21-4, 70 points) are in third place in the United States Hockey League’s East Division. The Riders close out the regular season with a pair of games this weekend. The Riders will host the Indiana Ice tomorrow night at 7:05 before traveling to Waterloo Saturday evening to take on the arch rival Black Hawks.
Tickets for tomorrow night’s game are now on sale. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game day.
