The host RoughRiders scored three third period goals on the way to a 4-1 win over the Green Bay Gamblers Tuesday night.
Tyler Thompson walked down the slot alone to snap a 1-1 tie at 4:46 of the third. The Riders doubled the lead at 8:23 when Ben Lynch converted a goalmouth feed from Dean Chelios. Cedar Rapids was on the power play when Ian Slater jammed in a rebound at 13:14 of the third to cap off the win.
The two teams swapped goals over the first forty minutes. The Riders grabbed the lead for the first time when Garrett Vermeersch buried the puck in a goalmouth scramble at 13:30 of the first period. The Gamblers evened the score at one at 12:19 of the second period when Mike Borisenok finished off a give-and-go with Cam Burt.
