Ice Slips Past Riders 2-1

Ice Slips Past Riders 2-1

Scott Darling made 41 saves to backstop the Indiana Ice to a 2-1 win over the host RoughRiders Friday night.

The Ice got all the offense they would need in a span of just 32 seconds in the first period. Patrick Cullen buried the puck from the side of the net to make it 1-0 at 10:55. At 11:27 Will MacDonald shoveled a loose puck home from the slot to double the lead.

Darling, who made 15 saves in both the second and third periods, was finally solved when Ian Slater cut the Ice lead to 2-1 at 8:44 of the third with a close range backhander. The Riders, however, would be unable to generate an equalizer despite creating chances until virtually the final horn.
