Riders Auction Hawkeye Jerseys Saturday Night; Proceeds to Benefit ALS Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will wear special edition Iowa Hawkeye/RoughRider jerseys during their game against the Sioux Falls Stampede this Saturday night at 7:05 and auction those jerseys off to immediately following that contest.

The black-and-gold jerseys, which feature the Hawkeye logo on the chest, will go up for bid with proceeds to benefit the ALS Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Iowa.

“We’re excited to have the chance to benefit two causes as worthy as the ALS Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Iowa through this auction,” said RoughRiders Vice President Jim Calpin.

Minimum bid for the auction is $125. Also going up for bid is a Miami (Ohio) uniform jersey autographed by current Miami University Red Hawks and former RoughRiders Pat Cannone, Ray Eichenlaub, Billy Loupee, Alec Martinez, Andy Miele, Gary Steffes and Tommy Wingels. Miami has spent much of this season as the top-ranked team in the nation.

The RoughRiders (21-8-1, 43 points) are currently in second place in the USHL’s East Division. The Riders will battle the Chicago Steel Friday night at 7:05 at the ice arena before welcoming the Stampede Saturday night.

Tickets for all remaining RoughRider regular season home games- including this weekend’s games- are now on sale. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game days.
