Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Nick Oddo has committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha, the RoughRiders announced today. Oddo is set to begin his college career in the fall of 2009.

“This is certainly great news for Nick, who’s done a good job of adapting to our league this season,” said RoughRiders Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson. “He’s a good young player who’s worked hard to improve.”

Oddo, 17, has scored eight goals and totaled 13 points in 22 games this season while posting a plus/minus rating of +10. The Omaha native ranks second among first year Riders in point scoring.

Oddo joined the Riders after playing for Kansas City’s Russell Stover midget program last season.
