RoughRiders Drop Green Bay 4-1

Nick Oddo scored two goals as the host RoughRiders defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 4-1 Friday night.

Oddo scored the first goal of the evening to spark a strong Rider effort and also wrapped up the win with a late empty netter.

The Riders got the early jump with first period goals from Oddo and Bryce Aneloski.

Oddo opened the scoring 5:27 into the game, slipping a check and snapping the puck into the top corner from the slot.

Aneloski’s wrister from the blue line sailed past Green Bay goaltender Neil Conway at 13:23 to double the lead.

The two teams swapped second period power play goals. The Riders extended the lead to 3-0 just 1:16 into the second when Mike Seidel buried a goal mouth feed from Doug Jones.

At 8:52 Joe Schiller got Green Bay on the scoreboard, pouncing on a loose puck in the slot and snapping it past Rider goaltender Brady Hjelle (25 saves).

Oddo capped off the evening with just over 40 seconds left in the third period by depositing the puck in the vacated Green Bay net from point blank range.
