Former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Aaron Bogosian, now a freshman at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, has been named ECAC Hockey League Rookie of the Week.
Bogosian, 20, scored his first collegiate goal and picked up two assists in the Saints’ 5-4 win over Ohio State last Saturday night in Columbus. The Massena, New York, native has totaled five points in 17 games this season.
St. Lawrence (6-8-3 overall, 2-4-2 conference) has suffered just one loss in its last four games (2-1-1) and currently sits in eighth place in the twelve-team ECAC Hockey League.
Last year, in his lone season in Cedar Rapids, Bogosian scored 13 goals and totaled 22 points while playing in each of the Riders’ 60 games. He also set a team record by scoring four shorthanded goals.
The RoughRiders (14-5-1, 29 points) are currently in second place in the USHL’s East Division. The Riders return to action Friday night at 7:05 when they host the Green Bay Gamblers.
