Cramer scored a pair of first period power play goals. He buried a rebound to open the scoring at 8:05 and swept home a goal mouth feed from Marcou to make it 2-0 at 18:18.
Marcou struck twice in the second period. Waterloo was again on the power play when he scored from the side of the net just over three minutes into the second. Marcou stretched the lead to four when he beat Rider goaltender Richard Bachman (32 saves) from close range at the 13:08 mark.
It was the Riders who were on the man advantage when Danny Dries finally jammed the puck passt Waterloo goaltender Matt DiGirolamo (30 saves) at 13:51 of the third. Dries struck again in the final minute, barreling into the goal mouth to cut the deficit to 4-2.
