Musketeers Slip Past Riders in Overtime

Kyle Medvec scored at 1:09 of overtime to give the host Sioux City Musketeers a 3-2 win over the RoughRiders Saturday night.

Medvec converted a cross-crease pass from Max Pacioretty for the game winner after the Riders, who did earn one point for the overtime defeat, rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force sudden death.

The Rider rally began when Jacob Cepis blasted the puck past Sioux City goaltender Jerry Kuhn at 16:39 of the first period.

The Riders evened the score at two at 8:03 of the second period when Danny Dries buried a rebound after Kuhn stopped a Cepis wraparound bid.

The Musketeers got the early jump with first period goals from Anthony Maiani and Kevin Lohry.

Maiani finished off a 2-on-1 rush to open the scoring 9:34 into the game and the Lohry fired the puck home from the left wing circle to double the Sioux City lead at 15:11 of the first.
