Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants will appear tomorrow night at the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders’ home game against the Green Bay Gamblers. The game begins at 7:05PM.
The star of both his own long-running animated television show and the 2004 SpongeBob SquarePants movie, SpongeBob is known for getting himself and his best friend Patrick the starfish into all sorts of wacky predicaments. He is sure to spread cheer to fans young and old when he arrives at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
SpongeBob’s appearance is just the start of the fun this weekend. The RoughRiders will ring in the new year just a little bit early with a special holiday fireworks display outside the ice arena following the Riders’ game against the Gamblers Saturday night.
The explosive action on the ice will begin at 7:35PM as the RoughRiders and Gamblers collide in the final game at the ice arena in 2006.
The RoughRiders (13-9-1, 27 points) are tied with Green Bay for second place in the United States Hockey League’s East Division. The Riders are four points behind the division-leading Waterloo Black Hawks.
Tickets for all remaining RoughRider regular season home games- including this weekend’s- are currently on sale.
