The referee and linesmen officiating this Saturday’s game between the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Des Moines Buccaneers will wear pink jerseys in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the RoughRiders announced today. The jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Two of the jerseys will be auctioned off immediately following the game, which begins at 7:05PM. The third jersey will go up for bid in an on line auction. The RoughRiders will team up with ScoreBid to host the on line bidding, which will begin next week. To access the auction, fans can click on the ScoreBid link at www.roughridershockey.com.

For better than two decades, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has helped build breast cancer awareness and provide information and hope for future innovations in breast cancer treatment. The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

The Riders (3-2-0, 6 points) will visit Des Moines Friday night before returning home to host the Bucs Saturday evening.

Saturday night is also ‘80’s Night at the ice arena. Fans are encouraged to wear their skinny ties, ash-washed jeans and leg warmers- or whatever else might be at the back of their closets- for the evening.

Tickets for all remaining RoughRider regular season home games- including Saturday night’s- are now on sale. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game days.
