Game Summary: April 11, 2006- RoughRiders 2 Des Moines 3 (OT)
<p>April 11, 2006- Colin Vock’s shorthanded goal at 1:22 of overtime gave the Des Moines Buccaneers a 3-2 win over the host RoughRiders Tuesday night in game one of the best-of-five East Division finals.</p>
<p>Vock’s wrist shot from just inside the blue line was deflected past Cedar Rapids goaltender Al Stalock (31 saves). The Bucs were down a man after Des Moines’ Trevor Lewis was called for cross checking just 28 seconds into sudden death.</p>
<p>Gary Steffes had given the Riders a short-lived 2-1 lead when he crossed the Des Moines blue line and ripped the puck in off the post just 54 seconds into the third period.</p>
<p>After Des Moines’ Aaron Bendickson scored from the side of the net to tie the score at two at 3:31 of the third, the game remained deadlocked through the end of regulation due in good part to the efforts of Stalock and Bucs’ goaltender Troy Davenport (34 saves).</p>
<p>The Riders and Bucs also swapped first period goals. Kyle Okposo tipped a Chase Ryan drive between Al Stalock’s pads to open the scoring 9:02 into the game. </p>
<p>The Riders knotted it up at one apiece at 16:41 of the first. Cedar Rapids was on the power play when Phil Axtell scored the equalizer from the doorstep.</p>
