Steven Kaunisto opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game with a drive from the left point.

The Riders were on the power play when David Strathman charged into the goalmouth and lifted the puck under the cross bar to double the lead at 5:24.

John Kemp’s wrist shot got Indiana on the scored board at the 7:32 mark of the first.

Strathman reestablished the two goal lead for Cedar Rapids with another power play goal.
