RoughRiders’ Regular Season Home Finale Tomorrow Night; Warm-Up Jersey Auction, Car Giveaway on Tap
<p>March 23, 2006- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will play their final regular season home game tomorrow evening at 7:05 against the Chicago Steel. Fans attending the game will have the chance to bid on RoughRiders warm-up jerseys, win a car and receive a free i wireless/RoughRider t-shirts.</p>
<p>The RoughRiders will auction off their special edition Rockwell Collins warm-up jerseys immediately following tomorrow night’s game. Proceeds from the live auction will benefit the United Way. Minimum bid will be $100.</p>
<p>"Cedar Rapids is a great place to live, work and play, and the effectiveness of the United Way and its health and human service agencies is helping improve the quality of life for many in our community,” Rockwell Collins Community Relations Manager Cindy Dietz. “So Rockwell Collins is proud to partner with the RoughRiders in this project to support the United Way of East Central Iowa.”</p>
<p>The jersey auction will complete a night full of promotions and giveaways. Three lucky fans will be chosen at random to play “Let’s Make a Deal” during the second intermission. The winner of the contest will drive home in a Pontiac Grand Prix.</p>
<p>The giveaways will start early as the first 1,000 fans through the doors tomorrow evening will receive free i wireless/RoughRiders t-shirts.</p>
<p>Tomorrow evening will also see the finals of the season-long TLC Laser Surgery Chuck-A-Puck contest. This season’s Chuck-A-Puck winners will compete for the grand prize of free lasik eye surgery courtesy of TLC Laser Eye Center during the second intermission. To accommodate the Chuck-A-Puck finals, the normal nightly Chuck-A-Puck contest will be shifted from the second intermission to the first.</p>
<p>The Riders (32-19-6, 70 points), who enter the weekend tied for first place in the United States Hockey League’s East Division, meet the Steel twice this weekend. After hosting Chicago tomorrow evening, the Riders will take on the Steel in Bensenville, Illinois, 24 hours later.</p>
<p>Tickets for tomorrow night’s game are on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at (319) 261-4625, in person at the ice arena or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7.00 to $17.00 including a 50-cent facility fee. Seats for the Riders’ first two Clark Cup playoff games are also now available at the ticket office. Playoff ticket prices range from $8 to $18.</p> |
