March 17, 2006- Mario Lamoureux converted the only successful penalty shot as the Tri-City Storm edged the host RoughRiders in 2-1 in a shootout.

The Riders, who did pick up one point for the shootout loss, got a superb 52-save effort from goaltender Al Stalock.

The game was scoreless for most of the first two periods until Rider captain Jordan Pietrus snapped the deadlock with just 23.2 seconds left in the second. Cedar Rapids was on the power play when Pietrus snapped a loose puck home from the slot.

The Storm rebounded to tie the score just over four minutes into the third period on Jake Obermeyer’s blast from the high slot.

After neither team could produce a game winner in regulation or overtime, it was Lamoureux who stepped up to backhand the puck between Stalock’s pads on the Storm’s second penalty shot.
