Game Summary: March 10, 2006- RoughRiders 4 Waterloo 3

<CENTER>#10 Chad Costello</CENTER></DIV><P>March 10, 2006- Nik Sellers and Chad Costello scored crucial third period goals and Al Stalock made 37 saves as the host RoughRiders defeated the Waterloo Black Hawks 4-3 Friday night.</P>
<P>Sellers swept a Jordan Pietrus centering pass home from the doorstep to snap a 2-2 tie at 7:36 of the third period.</P>
<P>Costello scored on a breakaway at 15:25 of the third period. That goal extended the Rider lead to 4-2 and proved to be the game winner after the Black Hawks would pull back within one in the final minute.</P>
<P>Waterloo emptied the net for an extra attacker with about 45 seconds left and the gamble paid off when Mitch Ryan scored his second goal of the night off a goalmouth feed from Zach Bearson with just over 29 seconds remaining. </P>
<P>The Black Hawks, however, were unable to produce a late equalizer as the Riders successfully protected the 4-3 lead in the dying seconds.</P>
<P>The Riders and Hawks had battled to a standstill through the first two periods. </P>
<P>It was the Black Hawks who got the early jump. Waterloo was on the power play when Dustin Molle opened the scoring at 3:32 of the first period with a blue line blast.</P>
<P>The Riders tied it at the 9:17 mark of the first when Sean Dolan took a feed from Gary Steffes and snapped the puck past Waterloo goaltender Joe Grossman (28 saves) from the slot.</P>
<P>In the second period, Cedar Rapids would take the lead for the first time while on the power play. At 9:04 of the second the Riders went up 2-1 when Pietrus backhanded a rebound into the back of the net.</P>
<P>The Hawks would battle back to even the score again with just 3.5 seconds left in the second. Ryan tipped a Molle shot in over Stalock’s shoulder to deadlock the game heading into the intermission.</P>
