The Tri-City Storm scored five unanswered goals on the way to a 5-1 win over the RoughRiders Saturday night in Kearney, Nebraska. The loss was the Riders’ second in a row, marking the first time this season Cedar Rapids has suffered back-to-back defeats.

The Tri-City onslaught started just eight seconds after Erik Felde gave the Riders a short lived lead at 10:33 of the first period.

From the ensuing face off, Storm defenseman Kyle Kuk skated into the left wing circle in the Riders zone and snapped the puck home just inside the far post to tie the score.

Kuk broke the deadlock at 3:05 of the second period when his shot from the blue line deflected off the Riders’ Brandon Svendsen and between goaltender Alex Stalock’s pads.

The Storm broke the game open in the third period with three goals in three minutes and forty-nine seconds.

First, Chris Hanson extended the lead to 3-1 at 9:30 with a power play goal.
