RoughRiders to Auction Autographed Bobby Goepfert St. Cloud State Jersey Tomorrow Night

<p>March 9, 2006- An authentic Bobby Goepfert St. Cloud State jersey autographed by the former Rider goaltending great will go up for bid in a silent auction during the Riders&#8217; game against the Waterloo Black Hawks tomorrow night at 7:05. </p> <p>The auction will benefit the RoughRiders&#8217; Score for the Community Fund. Score for the Community provides RoughRiders tickets to local charitable groups through corporate and individual donations.</p> <p>Goepfert, 22, has enjoyed an outstanding junior season at St. Cloud State after transferring from Providence. The Kings Park, New York, native ranks seventh in the nation in goals against average (2.06) and save percentage (.926). Goepfert has posted a 16-12-4 record this season and picked up three shutouts. He will backstop the Huskies against Colorado College in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association tournament beginning tomorrow night.</p> <p>Goepfert, who spent two seasons in Cedar Rapids, still holds nearly every RoughRider single season and career goaltending record. In 96 career games as a Rider, Goepfert went 52-28-9 with a 2.45 goals against average, a .926 save percentage and nine shutouts. In 2001-02, his final season in Cedar Rapids, Goepfert was named United States Hockey League Player of the Year after going 27-16-5 while turning in a 2.04 goals against average, a .936 save percentage and eight shutouts.</p> <p>Goepfert was a sixth round choice of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2002 National Hockey League draft.</p> <p>The RoughRiders (29-18-5, 63 points) are in second place in the United States Hockey League&#8217;s East Division. After taking on the Black Hawks Friday night, the Riders welcome the Green Bay Gamblers to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena Saturday evening at 7:05PM.</p> <p>Tickets for all RoughRiders home games- including this weekend&#8217;s- can be purchased in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days, including this Saturday. Ticket prices ranges from $7 to $17, including a 50-cent facility fee.</p>
