Game Summary: February 22, 2006- RoughRiders 7 Des Moines 4
<p>February 22, 2006- Jordan Pietrus scored one goal and picked up three assists as the RoughRiders dropped the host Des Moines Buccaneers 7-4 Wednesday night.</p>
<p>The Riders broke the game open by scoring five straight goals to turn a 2-1first period deficit into a 6-2 second period lead.</p>
<p>The Riders found themselves down by a goal less than eight minutes into the game after the Bucs responded to Nik Sellers’ opening goal with back-to-back strikes from Andrew Olson and Aaron Bendickson. </p>
<p>The Riders tied the score as Sean Dolan started the Cedar Rapids onslaught by firing a Pietrus feed home from the left wing circle at 12:16 of the first. </p>
<p>Pietrus gave the Riders a 3-2 lead at the 18:34 mark of the opening period with a one timer from the slot. </p>
<p>Just 48 seconds later, Andy Miele knocked home a loose puck from the slot to send the Riders into the intermission up 4-2.</p>
<p>The Riders kept on rolling at the start of the second period. Ted Purcell converted a Chad Costello feed from the right wing circle just 47 seconds into the second to extend the lead to 5-2.</p>
<p>It took just another minute and a half for the Riders to make the lead four as Dustin Cloutier scored from the high slot at 2:21 of the middle frame.</p>
<p>The issue was no longer in doubt by time the Buccaneers sandwiched third period goals from Olson and Bendickson around one from the Riders’ Steven Kaunisto.</p>
