<p>February 17, 2006- Six different RoughRiders scored and Al Stalock made 44 saves as Riders scored a wild 6-4 win over the host Des Moines Buccaneers Friday night.</p> <p>The Riders held a seemingly comfortable 4-1 lead after two periods, but had to endure a roller coast ride through the third period to secure the victory.</p> <p>Des Moines&#8217; Ken Rowe buried a rebound just over five minutes into the third to give the Bucs a spark and trim the Rider lead to 4-2. </p> <p>The Riders bounced back to reestablish the three goal lead when Andy Meile scored on a breakaway at 10:06.</p> <p>Despite trailing 5-2, the Bucs did not wilt. At 11:55, Des Moines was on the power play when Rowe tipped in a Jeff Petry drive to bring the Bucs back within a pair.</p> <p>The Riders were down two men when the Buccaneers pulled within a single goal just 88 seconds later. Shane Sims drove the puck home through traffic to make the score 5-4.</p> <p>Moments later, only a spectacular save from Stalock kept the Bucs&#8217; Trevor Lewis from tying the score. Stalock&#8217;s stunning stick stop would prove crucial as Nik Sellers soon after scored on the power play to give the Riders some much needed breathing room. Sellers jammed the puck in from the doorstep to make it 6-4 at 15:23 of the third.</p> <p>Both teams&#8217; power plays clicked early. The Riders were up a man when Gary Steffes opened the scoring at 4:58 of the first period. </p> <p>12:42 into the first, the Bucs bounced back to even the score at one while on the power play themselves. Aaron Bendickson redirected a Shane Sims blast into the back of the net for the first Des Moines goal of the night.</p> <p>At 18:32 of the first Chad Costello&#8217;s power play goal put the Riders back on top for good. </p> <p>The Riders stretched the lead to three with a pair of second period goals. Ted Purcell snapped the puck past Des Moines goaltender Troy Davenport just 16 seconds into the period to make it 3-1.
