RoughRiders Welcome SpongeBob Saturday; Miller Light Great Taste Tour, Food Drive Also at Ice Arena
<P>February 2, 2006- Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants will appear this Saturday night at the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders’ home game against the Sioux City Musketeers. The game begins at 7:05PM.</P>
<P>The star of both his own animated television show and the 2004 SpongeBob SquarePants movie, SpongeBob is known for getting himself and his best friend Patrick the starfish into all sorts of wacky predicaments. He is sure to spread cheer to fans young and old when he arrives at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. </P>
<P>This Saturday will also see the Miller Light Great Taste Mobile Chase Tour, presented by Fleck Sales, roll into the ice arena. The Great Taste Mobile Chase Tour features Miller Light models, taste tests and prize giveaways.</P>
<P>In addition, Saturday night is also the Riders’ fifth food drive night of the season. The Riders and the Cedar Rapids Jaycees team up for monthly food drives to benefit the HACAP Food Reservoir. The Jaycees collect canned food items at the RoughRiders’ first Saturday home game of each month. </P>
<P>The RoughRiders (23-12-4, 50 points) are in second place in the United States Hockey League’s East Division. The RoughRiders will see their first action of the weekend Friday night when they take on the Lincoln Stars at 7:05PM. Saturday’s game is the fifth and final meeting between the Riders and Musketeers. The Riders have won the first four match-ups between the two clubs.</P>
<P>Tickets for this weekend’s games- and all remaining RoughRider home games- can be purchased in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 including a 50-cent facility fee. </P> |
