RoughRiders Host Superhero Double Feature Saturday; The Thing and Spiderman Invade Ice Arena
<p>January 19, 2006- A pair of Marvel Comics Superheroes- Spiderman and the Thing (of Fantastic Four fame)- will appear this Saturday night at the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders' home game against the Chicago Steel. The game begins at 7:05PM.</p>
<p>Spiderman returns to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena by popular demand. The web slinger also appeared at a RoughRiders game last year. The Thing, a.k.a. Ben Grimm, is making his (its?) first appearance in Cedar Rapids. </p>
<p>The Fantastic Four, one of the action hits of last summer in theaters is now available on DVD. Spiderman and Spiderman 2 are both now in stores as well.</p>
<p>The arrival of Spiderman and the Thing is just the latest in a series of family-oriented promotions at RoughRiders games this season. Next up is SpongeBob SquarePants, who will be on hand during the Riders' February 4 game against Sioux City.</p>
<p>The Riders (21-9-4, 46 points) are in second place in the USHL's East Division. Tickets for Saturday's game- and all remaining RoughRider home games- can be purchased in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 including a 50-cent facility fee.</p> |
