Game Summary: January 13, 2006- RoughRiders 3 Omaha 4 (Shootout)

<P>January 13, 2006- Brett Bruneteau, Chris Moran and Matt Schepke converted penalty shots as the Omaha Lancers outscored the host RoughRiders 3-1 in the shootout to claim a 4-3 win Friday night.</P>
<P>The Riders, who did earn one point for the shootout loss, were keyed by Chad Costello, who scored two goals and picked up one assist and goaltender Pat McGann, who stopped 39 Lancer shots.</P>
<P>Omaha netminder Michael Spillane stopped three of four Cedar Rapids penalty shots as only Costello converted in the shootout for Cedar Rapids.</P>
<P>The Lancers came from behind with two third period goals to force overtime and, eventually, the shootout.</P>
<P>The Riders led 3-1 until Mark Olver redirected a Nick Fanto shot past Rider goaltender Pat McGann just over two minutes into the third period.</P>
<P>The Lancers tied it with 2:26 left in the third on Ryan Thang's second goal of the night. Thang drove the puck home from the top of the left wing circle.</P>
<P>The Riders had gotten the early jump by lighting the Lancers up for three first period power play goals. Chad Costello started the power play assault when he buried a Ray Kaunisto centering pass from the doorstep at 3:08 of the first. </P>
<P>The Riders were again up a man when David Strathman snapped the puck home from the left wing circle to double the lead at the 7:18 mark.</P>
<P>The Lancers trimmed the Rider lead to 2-1 just 22 seconds later as Thang buried a rebound from the slot.</P>
<P>The Riders bounced back to convert their third straight man advantage and reestablish the two goal lead when Costello converted a Sellers centering feed at 15:58.</P>
