Dale Jarrett #88 UPS Car And Simulator At RoughRiders Game Saturday

October 27, 2004- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will welcome the Dale Jarrett #88 UPS Car and the #88 simulator to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena this Saturday night as the RoughRiders take on the Indiana Ice.

Fans who buy tickets to the RoughRiders’ game will have the chance to get up close with NASCAR icon Jarrett’s #88 racecar from 6:00PM through the end of the second period of the RoughRiders’ game. The game faces off at 7:05PM.

For a $1 donation to the RoughRiders’ Score for the Community fund, ticket holders will also be able to take a wild ride in the #88 simulator. The Score for the Community program provides RoughRiders tickets to local charitable groups through corporate and individual donations.

In addition, a Dale Jarrett autographed baseball cap will go up for bid in a silent auction Saturday night, also to benefit the Score for the Community fund, courtesy of Clear Channel Motor Sports.

The first 2,000 fans to arrive at this Saturday night’s game will also receive free RoughRiders 2004-05 team photos, courtesy of AM-1360 The Fan, the radio home of the RoughRiders.

The Jarrett name is synonymous with NASCAR. Dale Jarrett, the son of racing legend Ned Jarrett, has won 32 races and topped four million dollars in career earnings over the course of his twenty-plus years as a Nextel Cup driver.

The arrival of the Dale Jarrett #88 car is just the first in a series of NASCAR promotions at RoughRiders games this season. The Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8 Budweiser Born On Date Car will be on display during the RoughRiders’ Saturday night, November 13 game against the Green Bay Gamblers. The Jeff Gordon #24 DuPont Car rolls into the ice arena on Saturday, January 29 when the RoughRiders take on the Sioux Falls Stampede.

The RoughRiders (6-1-1, 13 points) enter this Saturday’s game in first place in the United States Hockey League’s East Division, two points ahead of Indiana. The Riders also boast the USHL’s best winning percentage (.813).

Tickets for all remaining RoughRiders first half home games- including this Saturday’s contest- are now on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office.
