<P>January 6, 2006- Scott Wietecha scored at 2:32 of overtime to give the RoughRiders a 3-2 win over the host Waterloo Black Hawks Friday night.</P>
<P>After Waterloo goaltender Joe Grossman (25 saves) fought off close range bids from the Riders' Gary Steffes and Nik Sellers, Wietecha fired the puck over the fallen netminder from the slot to end a roller coaster evening.</P>
<P>The game only went to overtime after James Marcou scored his second goal of the third period to even the score with just 1:40 left in regulation. Marcou backhanded the puck past Rider goalie Al Stalock (38 saves) from the doorstep.</P>
<P>Marcou's goals enabled the Hawks to erase what had been a 2-0 Rider lead. The diminutive forward got Waterloo on the scoreboard for the first time with a power play goal at 2:01 of the third. Marcou snapped the puck home from the right wing circle to trim the deficit to 2-1.</P>
<P>The Riders built the two goal advantage on the back of power play goals early in each of the first two periods. </P>
<P>2:54 into the game, Sellers, who finished with one goal and two assists, converted a Chad Costello centering feed to open the scoring.</P>
<P>Costello steered the puck over the goal line from the doorstep just 38 seconds into the second period to extend the Cedar Rapids advantage to two.</P>
