RoughRiders to Auction Clark Cup Championship Ring to Benefit Cedar Rapids Youth Hockey

<p>December 19, 2005- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will auction off an authentic 2005 Clark Cup Championship ring on-line to benefit the Cedar Rapids Youth Hockey Association, the RoughRiders announced today.</p> <p>"The chance to bid on an actual RoughRiders Clark Cup championshiop ring is obviously a one-of-a-kind opportunity," said RoughRiders Vice President of Operations Jim Calpin. "We are especially thrilled to use this opportunity to benefit the Cedar Rapids Youth Hockey Association."</p> <p>The ring going up for bid is identical to those awarded to the players on the 2004-05 RoughRiders team that won the United States Hockey League's Clark Cup championship for the first time in club history. The RoughRiders have teamed up with EasyBids to hold the on-line auction, which opens this evening at 7:00PM and will run for ten days. </p> <p>"The partnership of the RoughRiders and Cedar Rapids Youth Hockey Association is very important to helping grow youth hockey in Cedar Rapids," said Cedar Rapids Hockey Association President Jeff Wolff. "The opportunity for the Cedar Rapids Youth Hockey Association to sell RoughRiders tickets and now the ring auction have gone a long way to offsetting the costs involved in our program."</p> <p>The championship ring auction can be accessed through the EasyBids link on the Riders' web site, www.roughridershockey.com. Bids on the championship ring can be made using a major credit card.</p> <p>EasyBids is one of the fastest growing eBay drop-off stores in the world. The Cedar Rapids EasyBids drop-off store is located at 1961 Blairs Ferry Road NE.</p> <p>The Riders are currently in second place in the United States Hockey League's East Division with a record of 18-7-1. The Riders return from the USHL's holiday break on Thursday evening, December 29, when the Green Bay Gamblers visit Cedar Rapids for a 7:05 tilt.</p> <p>Tickets for all remaining Rider home games are now on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at (319) 261-4625, in person at the ice arena or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7.00 to $17.00 including a 50-cent facility fee. </p>
