Game Summary: December 16, 2005- RoughRiders 4 Green Bay 3 (OT)

December 16, 2005- Nik Sellers scored 48 seconds into overtime to give the RoughRiders a 4-3 win over the host Green Bay Gamblers Friday night.

Sellers skated in alone and tucked the puck between the pads of Green Bay goaltender Max Strang (36 saves) for the game winner.

The Gamblers twice came from behind to tie the game in regulation.

The Riders took their second lead of the night when Gary Steffes snapped a 2-2 tied with just 29.9 seconds left in the second period. Steffes charged into the goalmouth to bury the rebound after Strang stopped Ray Kaunisto's shot from the left wing circle.

The Riders protected the one goal lead until Green Bay captain Tyler Lehrke evened the score at three with 8:21 left in regulation. Lehrke tipped Jonathan Braun's drive past Rider goaltender Pat McGann (31 saves).

Early on it looked as if the Riders might roll to the win as Chad Costello scored a pair of goals to give Cedar Rapids a 2-0 first period lead. The Riders were on the power play when Costello shoveled the puck home in a goalmouth scramble to open the scoring 5:34 into the game.

The Riders doubled the lead when Costello struck again at 10:42 of the first. The Riders broke two-on-one and Costello buried an Andy Miele centering pass to make it 2-0.

The Gamblers refused to lie down despite the early two goal deficit. Mike Sislo triggered the combeback when he got Green Bay on the scoreboard for the first time with just 48 seconds left in the first period. Sislo swept the puck inside the far post from the right wing circle to trim the gap to 2-1 heading into the intermission.

The Rider lead was gone after Kevin Deeth scored on the power play at 7:05 of the second period. Jeremy Dehner fed the puck down the slot to Deeth, who turned it in from the side of the net to knot it up at two apiece.

After Reichert made 14 saves to keep the Riders off the scoreboard in the first period, Jay Sprague opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal just 35 seconds into the second. Sprague walked in alone and snapped the puck past Rider netmidner Al Stalock's glove hand.

The Ice was on the power play when Milo tipped in a Sprague feed at 15:30 of the second to double the lead.

Indiana survived some third period pressure (the Riders outshot the Ice 11-4 in the final frame) and put Cedar Rapids away when Milo buried an empty net goal with just under a minute remaining.
