Game Summary: November 23, 2005- RoughRiders 3 Waterloo 2 (Overtime)
<p>November 23, 2005- Ted Purcell scored on a breakaway with 1:10 remaining in overtime to give the host RoughRiders a dramatic 3-2 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks Wednesday night.</p>
<p>Purcell stripped Waterloo's Drew Dobson at center ice, skated in alone on Black Hawk goaltender Joe Grossman (26 saves) and swept the puck in on the forehand.</p>
<p>The Riders had to come from behind in the third period just to force overtime. Cedar Rapids was down 2-1 until Phil Axtell tied the score with a power play goal at 9:39 of the third. Axtell one timed a Chad Costello centering pass into the top corner to set the stage for sudden death.</p>
<p>In the second period the Black Hawks took the lead with a pair of goals. Zach Bearson snapped the puck home from the doorstep to even the score at one at the 4:39 mark of the second. Isak Tranvik gave Waterloo a 2-1 lead when, with Rider goaltender Al Stalock (27 saves) out of the net, he buried a goalmouth feed from Mitch Ryan at 16:53.</p>
<p>The Riders' Nik Sellers opened the scoring just over three minutes into the game when he wristed the puck under the cross bar from the right wing boards.</p>
