The Elms in Concert Friday After RoughRiders' All Faith Night Game
<p>November 16, 2005- Christian rock band The Elms will perform after the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders' home game this Friday against the Des Moines Buccaneers as part of the Riders' All Faith Night.</p>
<p>The concert will immediately follow the hockey game, which starts at 7:05PM.</p>
<p>The Elms this summer signed an exclusive recording agreement with Universal Music Group's Universal South Records and have finished recording their debut general market CD, which will be released in early 2006. The band is composed of Owen Thomas (vocals and guitar), Christopher Thomas (drums and vocals), Thomas Daugherty (guitar and vocals), Nathan W. Bennett (bass guitar and vocals). <p>Numerous local youth and church groups have taken advantage of special ticket offers to attend the All Faith Night game and concert.</p>
<p>Tickets for Friday's game- as well as the rest of the RoughRiders' regular season home games- are on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office Monday. The ticket office will be open from noon to 5:00PM Monday through Friday and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The RoughRiders also offer ticket discounts for groups of 15 or more. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17, including a 50-cent facility fee.</p>
<p>The RoughRiders (10-4-0, 20 points) are in second place in the United States Hockey League's East Division, one point behind the division-leading Buccaneers. This Friday's contest is the opening game of a weekend home-and-home series between the two clubs. The Riders will visit Des Moines on Saturday night.</p> |
