Game Summary: November 15, 2005- RoughRiders 6 Indiana 4
<p>November 15, 2005- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders built a 5-1 lead and hung on for a 6-4 win over the host Indiana Ice Tuesday night.</p>
<p>Nik Sellers scored what would prove to be the game winning goal at 5:54 of the third period. Sellers raced into the goalmouth and backhanded a Jordan Pietrus centering pass home to give the Riders the seemingly comfortable 5-1 advantage. </p>
<p>The Ice, however, would battle back with three straight goals. Tristan Llewellyn scored from the red line at 7:32 to trigger the rally. Indiana narrowed the deficit to 5-4 with back-to-back shorthanded goals from Lukas Klimek at 9:01 and Mike Hull at 17:56.</p>
<p>The Riders were able to survive the scare and put the Ice away when Ted Purcell scored an empty net goal with just 50 seconds left in the third period.</p>
<p>Early on it seemed the Riders might run away with the game as Cedar Rapids jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead. Phil Axtell swept a goal mouth feed from Chad Costello into the net to open the scoring at 9:36 of the first.</p>
<p>Ray Kaunisto doubled the lead when he fired the puck between Indiana goaltender Jay Clark's pads at 15:01.</p>
<p>The Riders were on the power play when Axtell scored his second goal of the period at 17:02. Axtell charged into the slot and snapped the puck past Clark, who was replaced in goal by Cody Reichard at the start of the second period.</p>
<p>At 7:58 of the second Brian Gifford got Indiana on the scoreboard with a power play goal. Gifford tipped the puck past Rider netminder Pat McGann (30 saves) to cut the Cedar Rapids lead to 3-1.</p>
<p>Costello stretched the lead back to three goals when he scored off a give-and-go with Purcell with just 34 seconds left in the second period.</p>
