RoughRider/Iowa-Iowa State Hockey Doubleheader Saturday
<P>October 26, 2005- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will team up with the Iowa and Iowa State hockey teams for a double header this Saturday at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.</P>
<P>The Hawkeyes and Cyclones will face off at 4:00PM. The RoughRiders and Des Moines Buccaneers will complete the twin bill at 7:05PM. </P>
<P>This is the second year in a row that the Riders and Hawkeyes have played a doubleheader at the ice arena. Iowa met the University of Northern Iowa prior to a RoughRiders game last season. </P>
<P>Saturday afternoon's game will mark the Cyclone hockey team's first appearance at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.</P>
<P>One ticket will cover admission to both games of the doubleheader. </P>
<P>The Cyclones and Ice Hawks are both off to strong starts this season. Iowa State is number five in the American College Hockey Association's Division I rankings. The Cyclones (6-2 conference, 8-2 overall) are in first place in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League. </P>
<P>Iowa, a member of the Division II Mid-American College Hockey Association Silver Division, has begun the season 5-0-1. </P>
<P>Saturday's doubleheader is the first of two RoughRider/Hawkeye twin bills this season. On Saturday, February 11, the Hawkeyes will face Western Illinois at 4:00PM and the Riders and Omaha Lancers will meet at 7:05PM.</P>
<P>The RoughRiders (6-2-0, 12 points) head into the weekend tied for first place overall in the United States Hockey League and alone atop the USHL's East Division. This Saturday's game is the third of four straight Saturday home dates for the RoughRiders.</P>
<P>Tickets for all RoughRiders home games- including Saturday's- can be purchased in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days, including this Saturday. </P>
<P>Ticket prices for Saturday's double header range from $8 to $18. $8 bleacher tickets are available to all students with a valid college ID. Iowa State alumni can receive special group ticket rates through the ISU alumni office.</P> |
