Game Summary: October 1, 2005- RoughRiders 2 Green Bay 4
<P>October 1, 2005- Brian Rohloff scored two goals as the host Green Bay Gamblers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held off a RoughRider comeback bid on the way to a 4-2 win Saturday night.</P>
<P>After the Gamblers broke out to a 2-0 first period lead, Rohloff scored what would prove to be the game winning goal at 4:48 of the second period. The second year Gambler fired the puck home from the left wing circle to extend the Green Bay lead to three.</P>
<P>The Riders began to claw their way back into the game when Ted Purcell scored at the sixteen minute mark of the second. On a 2-on-1 break, Purcell wristed a Chad Costello feed past Green Bay goaltender Dan Rosen (27 saves) from the left wing circle to narrow the deficit to 3-1.</P>
<P>At 5:58 of the third period, the Riders pulled within one on Aaron Bendickson's power play goal. Benickson's shot from the side of the net trickled through Rosen and over the goal line. That, however, proved to be the Riders' only power play goal in nine opportunities.</P>
<P>The Gamblers held off the Riders the rest of the way until Rohloff's empty net goal clinched the win with just 19.8 seconds left in the game.</P>
<P>Green Bay was able to spend the rest of the night in the lead after Joe Welch opened the scoring just 2:48 into the game. Welch buried a Steve Silva centering pass to put the Gamblers up 1-0.</P>
<P>With just 3.4 seconds left in the first the Gamblers extended the lead to 2-0 when Silva himself converted a Chris Stansik centering feed for a key power play goal.</P>
