Preseason Game Summary: September 16, 2005- RoughRiders 2 Sioux City 3
<p>September 16, 2005- Sam Gagner and Phillip DeSimone scored third period goals just ten seconds apart to propel the Sioux City Musketeers to a 3-2 win over the RoughRiders at the Buc Bowl preseason tournament today.</p>
<p>Gagner lifted the pucked over sprawling Rider goaltender Pat McGann from the edge of the crease to snap a 1-1 tie at 7:23 of the third period.</p>
<p>At 7:33, Phillip DeSimone, leading a Musketeer 2-on-1, raced into the left wing circle and fired a wrist shot past McGann's glove hand.</p>
<p>The Riders cut the Sioux City lead to 3-2 at 14:18 of the third while on the power play. Phil Axtell buried a cross ice pass from Ted Purcell from point blank range before Sioux City netminder Billy Blase could move across the goalmouth.</p>
<p>It was the Riders who had gotten on the scoreboard first. After a goalless first period and a half, Aaron Bendickson's wraparound gave the Riders a 1-0 lead at 13:07 of the second period.</p>
<p>The Bucs evened the score when Chris Spicer scored what would prove to be the first of three straight Sioux City goals by ripping a one timer home at 17:14 of the second.</p>
<p>The Riders will close out the Buc Bowl when they take on the Lincoln Stars on Saturday at 2:30PM.</p>
