Preseason Game Summary: September 9, 2005- RoughRiders 2 Des Moines 4

<p>September 9, 2005- The host Des Moines Buccaneers turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead by scoring a pair of goals just over a minute apart midway through the second period and went on to defeat the RoughRiders 4-2 in United States Hockey League preseason action Friday night. </p> <p>The Bucs' Kyle Okposo crashed the net to even the score at 10:17 of the second. Des Moines went on top at 11:22 when Ken Rowe buried a rebound. The Bucs went on to outshoot the Riders 20-6 in the second period.</p> <p>The Buccaneers extended the lead to 3-1 when Colin Vock scored what would prove to be the game winner at 6:43 of the third period. The Bucs were on the power play when Vock steered the puck over the goal line after Shane Sims' drive from the left point broke off Rider goaltender Alex Stalock (37 saves). </p> <p>Ray Kaunisto's backhander from the slot narrowed the Des Moines lead to 3-2 at 11:49 of the third, but Alex Laseen's empty net goal with just 41 seconds remaining in the game iced the win for the Bucs.</p> <p>The Riders had opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game with a Gary Steffes power play goal. Steffes one timed a Dustin Cloutier centering feed into the top shelf at the 1:59 mark of the first period.</p> <p>The Riders and Bucs will meet again Saturday night at 7:05 at the Coral Ridge Ice Arena in Coralville. Admission to that game is free.</p>
