Preseason Game Summary: September 7, 2005- RoughRiders 5 Waterloo 0

<P>September 7, 2005- Phil Fox scored two goals and added one assist and first year goaltender Pat McGann made 16 saves as the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders opened the preseason with a 5-0 shutout of the host Waterloo Black Hawks.</P> <P>Fox scored the first two Rider goals and set up the third for Johnston, Iowa, native Chad Costello.</P> <P>Fox converted a Costello feed to open the scoring just one minute forty-seven seconds into the first of two twenty-five minute periods. </P> <P>Fox struck again at 8:04 of the first, tipping a David Strathman feed past Waterloo starting goaltender Clark Oliver during a Cedar Rapids power play. </P> <P>Costello cut into the slot and fired the puck past Oliver to extend the lead to 3-0 at the 15:45 mark of the first.</P> <P>The Riders' put two power play goals past Ken Wochele- Oliver's replacement- in the second period. Andy Miele stretched the Cedar Rapids lead to four at 7:47 and Jacob Cepis finished the scoring at 12:21. </P>
