RoughRiders Offer Pay-Per-View Video Webcasts; Free Audio Webcasts Return
<P>October 15, 2004- Beginning with tomorrow night’s home opener, all Cedar Rapids RoughRiders home games- and two road games- will be available for viewing at the RoughRiders’ official web site, www.roughridershockey.com, the Riders announced today.</P>
<P>The RoughRiders have partnered with B2 Networks LLC of Las Vegas, Nevada, to offer the pay-per-view webcasts.</P>
<P>“We’re obviously very excited about the chance to offer this tremendous service to our fans and about our partnership with B2 Networks,” said RoughRiders Vice President of Operations Jim Calpin. “We are very hopeful that our fans and our players’ families will enjoy the video webcasts.”</P>
<P>Fans will be able to click on the “Watch RoughRiders’ Games Live” icon at the RoughRiders’ web site to watch and listen to the game. The broadcast is available to fans with a high speed DSL or cable modem internet connection. The charge for video webcasts is $6 per game.</P>
<P>“We are excited to add the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena to our growing broadcast network. It is always exciting to bring live hockey games from an organization such as the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to hockey fans around the world,” said Greg Bell, CEO and chairman of B2 Networks.</P>
<P>The RoughRiders’ home schedule kicks off as the arch rival Waterloo Black Hawks visit the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena tomorrow evening at 7:05. In addition to all 30 RoughRiders home games, the Riders’ two regular season road games against the Omaha Lancers will also be available via video webcast.</P>
<P>In addition to bringing fans video webcasts, the RoughRiders and B2 Networks have also teamed up with AM-1360 The Fan to bring back free audio-only webcasts of all RoughRiders’ games, also beginning this weekend. Fans can go to the RoughRiders web site and click on the “Listen To RoughRiders Games” link to catch all the action as called by RoughRiders play-by-play announcer Brian Lavelle.</P>
<P>Tomorrow night’s live audio-only webcast begins at 7:00PM. The audio-only webcast of Sunday night’s game between the RoughRiders and the Indiana Ice in Indianapolis, will be tape-delayed. That game can be heard on-line following the end the Sunday’s National League Championship Series baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Houston Astros.</P>
<P>Tickets for all RoughRiders first half home games- including tomorrow night’s home opener- are available at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena tickets office. Tickets can be purchased in person at the ice arena or over the phone at (319) 261-4625. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days, including tomorrow. Ticket prices range from $8.00 to $17.00 including a 50-cent facility fee.</P>
