Game Summary: March 25, 2005- Sioux City 3 RoughRiders 2

<p>Brian Bales scored two goals and added one assist as the host Sioux City Musketeers defeated the RoughRiders 3-2 Friday night.</p> <p>Bales&#8217; second goal would prove to be the game winner. Bales gave Sioux City a 3-1 lead at 15:55 of the third period when his wrist shot from the high slot whistled past Rider goaltender Dan Tormey (36 saves) on the glove side.</p> <p>Just 11 seconds later, Rob Ricci brought the Riders back within one. Ricci&#8217;s centering bid from the left wing circle was blocked by Sioux City defenseman Jake Gannon and caromed into the goalmouth, where Ricci pounced to fire it into the back of the net.</p> <p>The Riders came up short in their search for a late equalizer, despite going on the power play for 34 seconds and then pulling Tormey for an extra attacker in the final minute. </p> <p>The Riders were force to operate from behind most of the night. Bales walked into the goalmouth to give Sioux City a 1-0 lead at 8:02 of the first period.</p> <p>Sioux City was on the power play when Josh Meyers buried a rebound to double the lead at 10:28 of the second period.</p> <p>The Riders narrowed the Sioux City lead to 2-1 at 16:43 of the second thanks to a power play goal from defenseman Ray Eichenlaub. Eichenlaub snuck in through the back door to bury a Matt Vokes centering pass.</p> <p>Each team produced a second period goal despite the fact that Sioux City outshot the Riders 17-8 in the middle frame. Tormey, who made a number of fine saves throughout the game, was at his busiest in the second, stopping 16 Musketeer shots.
