Game Summary: March 12, 2005- Sioux City 7 RoughRiders 3
<p>The Sioux City Musketeers broke open a tie game with three goals in three minutes and one second late in the first period and went on to defeat the host RoughRiders 7-3 Saturday night.</p>
<p>Peter Lenes snapped a 1-1 deadlock at 16:05 of the first period. Goals from Corey Elkins and Travis Turnbull soon followed and the Musketeers took a 4-1 lead into the first intermission.</p>
<p>Dennis McCauley’s power play goal just 1:25 into the second period stretched the lead to four goals.</p>
<p>The Riders picked up their play after taking a timeout midway through the second period and got their second goal of the game when Rob Ricci scored off a faceoff win at 15:10 of the second.</p>
<p>However, after withstanding some Rider pressure early in the third period, the Musketeers extended the lead to 6-2 at 2:50 of the third when Justin Bostrom converted a Tim Kennedy set up.</p>
<p>Justin Abdelkader jammed home his second goal of the night from the doorstep at 9:16 to make the score 6-3, but Kennedy capped off a banner night for the Musketeers when he scored Sioux City’s seventh goal with just under six minutes left in the game.</p>
<p>Early on it seemed a tight contest might be brewing as the Musketeers took a 1-0 lead 5:54 into the game on a Brian Bales power play goal only for Abdelkader to tie the score just 39 seconds later.</p>
